A tradition of putting
technology at your service.
Panini is a trusted provider of reliable and ergonomic solutions designed to help businesses in various industries securely manage high value information and prevent fraud.
An Italian tale of Innovation
For more than 75 years Panini has been providing cutting-edge technology and innovative products which have helped shape the history of financial services.
Founded in Turin, in the industrial heart of Italy, the Company conquered its domestic market first, thanks to its efficient check processing solutions coupled with superior level nationwide service, then expanded into the international arena, starting with the U.S. office in Ohio, to become a technology partner of many of the world’s leading Banks in just a few years.
Today Panini operates in more than 40 countries and its scanners have been installed in tens of thousands of bank and postal branches as well as businesses of any size and sector. In parallel to the acclaimed scanners portfolio, we are now developing secure identity solutions which will extend our technological and market footprint to new industries and to a growing range of essential applications.
An impressive streak of achievements and successes
since distant 1945 .
1945
Antonio Panini establishes Panini in Torino as a distributor of office equipment. The Company’s first fully designed product is a specialized copier for financial documents.
1980
Panini’s key vendor for check readers sorters opens a subsidiary in Italy, threatening Panini’s role. The Company decides to invest on its own line of sorters, and the LS high-speed series is launched: the revolutionary image capture system pushes all main competitors to a marginal position in the local document processing market.
1990
The creation of the S1 and S1 Vision mid-size readers sorters confirms Panini’s domestic market leadership. The new Italian check truncation law creates the need for an entry-level MICR reader, and the Company chooses to accelerate on internationalization instead. With a North American subsidiary in Dayton, Panini is ready to conquer the world’s largest check market.
2004
Through a process of constantly listening to customers' needs, Ugo Panini, son of Antonio, fine-tunes the winning formula of the new MyVision X: a perfect balance of shape, size, features and price/performance, and a mix which quickly achieves market dominance and obtains the praise of leading Financial Institutions, in the U.S. and around the world.
2008
The new generation Vision X confirms Panini’s leadership in distributed processing, which extends to the present day. Panini organizes Share a New Vision, an international design competition on “branch of the future” concepts, and the Company is declared market leader in Remote Deposit Capture installations in the USA for the 3rd consecutive year.
2009
The Company introduces the I:Deal, a compact, ergonomic platform for remote check capture aimed at small and medium-sized businesses. The unit replicates the user experience of a self-service device, which makes it friendlier for non-bankers to use.
2013
The Vision neXt is the evolution of the X – a full teller automation tool, rather than just a check scanner. The mI:Deal single feed scanner extends professional check capture to POS capture, mobility and untethered applications, and represents our first intelligent scanner: API-free, OS-agnostic, network-enabled and wireless-capable.
2016
The EverneXt becomes Panini’s new flagship, combining the Vision neXt's unique advantages with the revolutionary intelligent Everest architecture. Intelligent scanners are compatible with a vast range of use cases and can act as a cornerstone for full-fledged branch transformation projects.
2020
A record year during the breakout of the pandemic, with Panini making an important donation to healthcare institutions fighting COVID-19 in Northern Italy and Ohio. Our new Mission Statement announces a joint focus on both Payments and Secure Identity. The corporate Headquarters is moved to a modern and open location in the city of Torino, better aligned with the Company’s fast-paced, technology-driven culture.
2022
Panini launches BioCred, a consolidated, universal identity platform meant to revolutionize the way customers are authenticated and served on-premise - in Financial Services and beyond.
